Welcome to our first online mini issue!

Just because it takes us so long to get our asses in gear to print a new issue doesn't mean we wanted to miss out on all that’s going on this fall. For one thing, there are some great books coming out, and a ton of cool local bands are releasing CDs – check our oft-updated reviews pages to see what we think. Speaking of music, we’ve also got a story on Motion Man, a veteran local rapper who we think should be getting a lot more attention.

There’s also a lot going on for a lot of people we like. Local accessories label FluffyCo ("FluffyCo's Paulina Berczynski: She's Crafty," Summer 2005) is opening its very own showroom called Hello, Fluffy, at 14th and Guerrero in SF (in the former Needles + Pens space) later this month. Speaking of new stores, the fashionable ladies at Nisa ("Nisa: Women on the Verge," Winter 2004) have opened a second location, on 24th and Church in Noe Valley.

Grottofilms’ ("The Little Production Company That Could," Summer 2005) long-awaited feature debut, Full Grown Men, is showing twice this month at the Mill Valley Film Festival. And after an off-Broadway stretch this summer, Brian Copeland ("Brian Copeland Will Make You Laugh, Right After He Makes You Cry," Summer 2005)and his hit one-man show, Not a Genuine Black Man, have returned to the Marsh Theatre for another round – catch it through October 21.

Stay tuned for our next print issue, coming in a few months. In the meantime, check out our new events page to see which ones we recommend.
